About This Lab<\/h2>\n

This multidisciplinary research laboratory studies the interrelated mechanisms of swallowing, breathing, ingestion, airway clearance, airway compromise and movement of materials throughout the upper aerodigestive system.<\/p>\n

Specifically we are working to :<\/p>\n

  1. Delineate mechanisms contributing to upper aerodigestive regulation and dysfunction as a preclinical indicator of disease across the lifespan.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    2. Developing and testing of novel biomarkers as research tools for prehabilitation and rehabilitation studies.<\/p>\n

    3. Applying and evaluating novel therapeutic options for the rehabilitation of upper aerodigestive disorders.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator css=””][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]\n
